About us Our Impact Social Economic Impact Our impact is more than meets the eye. Our social enterprise not only provides meaningful work opportunities for our Companions and the funds to support our Community home; but also brilliant volunteering opportunities and employment for people of all ages and backgrounds. Employment Emmaus South Wales currently employ 27 individuals from the South Wales area offering a range of careers. Fun fact, two of our staff members are former Companions and are an asset to our staff team! At Emmaus we like to support our staff to develop their skills through our personal development programme. This includes providing staff with regular training sessions as well as offering tailored courses to enhance their skills and knowledge so they can thrive at work. Staff have attended a number of courses including Bike Maintenance, PAT Testing, Leadership & Management ILM Level 3, Media Communications, Digital Marketing and more! Volunteering There are currently over 80 people volunteering for Emmaus South Wales throughout our seven shops. Our volunteers give an anything from one hour a week, to 5 days a week volunteering their time to support us. There are many different reasons why people volunteer with us, check out our volunteer stories here. Did you know that volunteering can have some significant positive impacts? These include reducing stress and improving mood, increasing job prospects and increasing skill base. Read more here... Not only do we provide volunteering opportunities, we also offer short and long term work experience placements for students in school, college or university wishing to gain experience in the careers mentioned above.
