The Ewenny Arts festival has raised an amazing £650 for Emmaus South Wales by holding a concert with local choirs and an early music band. The concert took place in the evening on Saturday the 29th of April in Ewenny Priory church, with over 100 people attending the event.

The atmosphere in the priory was described as being ‘electric with everyone united in the aim to create a thoroughly memorable evening’. There was a variety of musical entertainment during the evening from early music group ContraBand playing medieval and renaissance music, mixed Welsh choir Cantorion Coety and the Ewenny Chamber Choir. The venue’s acoustics were described as being ‘perfect for both instrument and voice’ fully complimenting the range of musical styles. The event was a brillaint success with the venue being full to the brim and such a large amount of money being raised for Emmaus.

At Emmaus South Wales we were delighted when we found out the Ewenny Arts Festival were holding a concert in aid of the charity. We really appreciate the support of local people and organisations. The money raised will help us to support people facing homelessness and social exclusion, to get their lives back on track.

The Ewenny Arts Festival was formed over 20 years ago as an early music festival. It has grown from strength to strength with a rolling programme of events including: drama, Jazz, poetry to name but a few. The Festival regularly donates to charity and was delighted to be able to support the valuable work carried out by Emmaus South Wales in supporting the homeless and socially excluded.

Emmaus South Wales would like to thank Ewenny Arts festival for organising such a brilliant event and also everyone who attended the concert and donated to Emmaus to help our cause. Thank you.
