About us Archive news stories Companions decorate the Community home ready for Christmas This week, Emmaus South Wales Companions and Marketing Coordinator, Georgia got into the Christmas spirit and decorated the Community home. All of the decorations used to make the Community look Christmassy, including the tree, baubles and lights were all donated to the Community or our shops. One Companion decorated the tree himself and even dressed up as Santa to really get into the Christmas spirit. He said "When I told my family I was decorating the home and the tree dressed as Santa, they didn't believe me. This is something I haven't done in a very long time, so it's a bit alien to me. But I really enjoyed it". Our Marketing Coordinator, Georgia said "A lot of the Companions haven't had somewhere safe and welcoming to call home for a long time. So, it was great to help them put the Christmas decorations up and make the home look festive". All of the communal rooms were decorated, including the living room, kitchen and hall. Lights, baubles, snow spray and meters and meters of tinsel were used to get the home looking festive. The communal living room After the decorating was complete, there was a real buzz in the Community, especially when Companions arrived back from the social enterprise. One Companion said "I feel really Christmassy, it's like being at home. I haven't felt like that for ages". Merry Christmas from everyone at Emmaus South Wales.
