In the era of 'Fast Fashion' it's hard to keep up with the trends! Not only can it be expensive, but it's also not great for the environment. At Emmaus we believe in sustainable fashion, so this month our Marketing Coordinator, Georgia shares five summer 'looks' that have been created using some items of clothing that she has bought from Emmaus South Wales shops. The aim of this blog is to combat the stigmas of charity shops and show the fantastic items you can find at bargain prices!

1. Beach print clash

Hitting the beach but still want to look classy? A cover up dress is great for keeping all of your modesty but still making you look great. I love this one as it has a clash of really funky prints and colours which is all the rage this season. It's all about the clash! Another great thing about it is it will go with most of your swimsuits and bikinis, so it's a great all rounder too. These cover ups are normally one size, simply use the tie around the waist to accentuate your figure. If you're heading to the beach team with a pair of trusty flip-flops, or if you're heading to a pool party chuck on a pair of funky heels.

2. Day to night

This kaftan cover up is the same shape as the previous look, however in a different pattern and colour way. The gold, black and green shades in this dress seem more appropriate for the evening and could be a great option for the day to night look. Team with a pair of wedges and a belt for an easy and comfortable evening outfit for the summer.

3. LBD

Even though it's summer is there anything better than a little black dress? Sweet, simple yet super elegant.

I have kept things quite neutral and classy with this look and teamed the dress with some gold barely there tie up heels. But you can always change this outfit up by wearing black accessories or even neons to keep it fresh and young.

4. Ibiza here we come

Going on holiday and want to stand out? Get those metallics out!

If you want to stand out one evening on holiday or perhaps whilst enjoying a meal out in the sun, then metallics are the way to go. Especially gold as it always complements sun kissed skin. I have teamed this gold knitted dress, which has tiny gold sequins on which catch the light beautifully with some gold barely there tie up heels. Simple, but bound to turn heads.

5. Black tie cruise

I am obsessed with this dress! If you are going on a cruise this summer or have a special event to go to then a long evening dress is a must have. Evening dresses can be super expensive, but not this one. At £9 this was an absolute bargain! It is cleverly embellished in a pattern that compliments the figure making you look and feel amazing. Top tip: If you see anything this special in a charity shop, snap it up as it would have been significantly more from the retailer.
